  7. The Distribution Control Server (DCS) is an extensible server based software
  8. package designed specifically for warehousing and distribution applications.
  9. Applications access the DCS via natural language commands and may be developed
  10. using any number of UNIX or MS Windows GUI Tools (X Windows, Visual Basic,
  11. Visual C++, etc.)  The DCS provides a flexible and extensible framework for
  12. warehousing, distribution, and real time data acquisition by addressing
  13. operational logistics problems and data management issues as they relate to
  14. distribution.  The software supports natural language commands in the areas
  15. of: receiving, material movement, storage selection based on rules, work
  16. management via paper or RF terminals, control of automation equipment (PLCs),
  17. coordination of host transactions and data transfers, etc.  Commands may be
  18. modified and new commands added via an easy to use point-and-click command
  19. definition program.  Full-featured raw material and distribution end-user
  20. applications are also available running under X Windows and MS Windows.
